Felicity was born in the southern U.S. in 1774. Her farther was a Patriot which meant that they wanted America to be independent. Felicity's closest friend was Elizabeth Cole, her family are Loyalists this means that they believe America should stay attached to Europe. Her mother wanted her to learn how to be a proper lady which meant she could sew, take tea and dance. She wanted to be riding a horse or being outside. Felicity discovers that even though people have different ideas they can still have a friendship. There is a DVD about Felicity, And I suggest it to anyone studying Patriots and loyalists because it gives you a very good idea about it all!

Rebecca Rubin

Rebecca is from 1914. She lives in an apartment in New York City with her grandparent's, parents and siblings. She observes the Jewish faith. She wants to become an actress so she can sing and perform. If she became an actress she would be going against her families wishes who want her to become a teacher. She helps her extended family immigrate from Russia and settle into America. She learns that it is possible to honor her family and become her own independent self. There are six books that follow her life in America.

Kit Kittredge

Kit lives in Cincinnati in 1934. In her time most families were unable to buy food or pay their rent. Kit's most favorite book is "Robin Hood and his Adventures". Her most favorite possession is her typewriter (it is like you having your own laptop). She enjoys to write newspapers for her father to read when he comes home from a hard day of work. What changes her live is when her father loses his job. She come to the realization that with every hard time, come a good thing. There is a DVD about Kit and her family, I found it very sad but it is a good story.

Molly McIntire

Molly lives in Jefferson, Illinois in 1944, during World War II. Her family and others supported the war and its soldiers by growing Victory Gardens (food for the soldiers). She has three best friends, one of them is named Emily Bennett who comes to the US from a war-torn London, England and is living with her and her family. Emily and Molly both learn the importance of co-operating together, just as their countries must do to win the war. Molly's most important moment of her childhood was when she was picked dance the part of "Miss Victory" at a Red Cross Fundraiser. The most saddest part of her childhood was when her dad went off to war. Molly comes the conclusion that sometimes doing your part is hard and difficult, but it is the best thing to do.

Julie Albright

Julie Albright lives in San Francisco, California in 1974. Julie is going through one of the hardest experiences of her life: her parents are divorced and she has to move to a new school. Her favorite desert is chocolate fondue and her best friend lives next door. She comes to the realization that the best way to deal with change is to make a few changes of her own.
