Guess What??

We have just added the Saige doll, American girl doll of the year 2013!!!
We are very happy although some things are kind of disappointing.
She is a wonderful doll and the book and movie are GREAT. But I do think they should match them up a bit more. Here are a few reasons:

1. In the book Mimi trips over a kitten NOT Rembrandt.
2. There are two dogs, Rembrandt and Sam.
3. Mimi teaches Saige how to do the parade gait BEFORE the fall
4.They do NOT work together for that dance.
5. There was no Beige day in the book.
6. Gabby and Saige are supposed to teach Picasso how to nod his head.

Those are just a few reasons but still they were very well done and I think the girl who played Saige was a very good actress, especially for her first time, I also find the actress looks ALOT like my friend. And we are very content about the job on the doll ( except her freckles, They are very weird in person.)

I appreciate you reading this, I may be a bit picky but that is just my "complaints" about the movie/book and Doll.

Saige The girl of the year 2013

Saige is a spirited girl with a very outgoing personality, even though she may freeze up in front of a crowd. She lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Which is the Hot Air Balloon capital in the world.
Her favorite activities include painting with her grandmother, Mimi, Ridding her grandmothers horse, Picasso, and playing with her dog, Sam. Most of Saiges animals are named after famous Artists. Her life changes when she begins the fourth grade, her best friend and her slowly drift apart and having no art class in school. She soon discovers though that you can use your imagination to create artwork and  inspire others.

Caroline Abbott

Caroline Abbott is a new doll in the American girl doll collection of historical dolls.
She lives by Lake Ontario in the busy village of Sackets Harbour, New York.
And of course just as the other American girl dolls she has a pet, a black and white cat named Inkpot, Whom she has owned since he was a kitten.
During the war of 1812, America was fighting the British, in her own hometown.
She loves spending time on the lake , Sailing with her father or skating during the winter with friends.
Her biggest dream would be : Being the captain of her very own ship.
Her life changes when she has to help her mother run the family shipyard during her fathers leaving.
She soon discovers that you must use your mind and  your heart to guide your decisions.

Chrissa Maxwell

Chrissa is a friendly, creative girl who has found all her courage to stand up for herself and others. Her favorite sport was swimming, she loved to dive too. Her favorite after school activities was to do art, crafts and she also loved to sew. Chrissa's grandma has three pet llamas, there names are Cosmos, Checkers and Starburst, though Starburst belonged to Chrissa and her brother Tyler. Chrissa's life changes when she and her family move into a whole new town, now she lives with her grandmother that she and Tyler call "Nana". In Chrissa's new school there are three mean bully's named Tara James who is the Queen-bee of all Queen-bees, Jayden Johnson who stays loyal to Tara throughout the movie and then Sonali Matthews who ends up turning against Tara and be-friending Chrissa, they all bullied Gwen Thompson homeless girl (who Chrissa be-friends, and so does Sonali), and they also bully Chrissa, soon Chrissa discovers that it takes a lot of courage to stand strong in the face of bullying. There is a DVD about Chrissa, It is a very well written and well acted movie!  
 

McKenna Brooks

 

McKenna is the girl of the year 2012.She is a very determined girl who uses her strength and courage to turn challenges into triumphs. She loves practicing and performing her gymnastics routines. She is in level 4 in gymnastics. Her teammates Toulane Thompson and Sierra Kuchinko and her tutor Josie Myers are her friends. Her life changes when she can't keep up with her grade's reading level, so she must get extra help at school. Taking it one page at a time, she finishes a long book in one week-and enjoys it. And she soon discovers that the same skills that make her a good gymnast can springboard her to success in school.
